The O.D. Shag Club supports many
Charities throughout the year 2011

The O.D. Shag Club board selects the charities we will sponsor and through the help and participation of our members, we were able to make donations of $11,500 to local charities for 2011.

Camp Kemo

We are proud that O.D. Shag Club could donate $3,000 to Camp Kemo during Fall SOS. Camp Kemo is a camp for children with cancer and their families. For these kids it may be a brief moment of joy in a life that has its share of pain and fear, and the week-long camp can provide them with a normal childhood experience

Junior Shag Association

To preserve the SHAG and preserve our Tradition, the O.D. Shag Club was proud to donate $500 to the Junior Shag Association during the Jr. SOS Brunch. We are so fortunate to have this young generation carry on the tradition.

Teen Angels

Teen Angel, a program that helps homeless North Myrtle Beach High School students. Teen Angel began as a way to provide homeless NMB students with Christmas gifts and food, the program provides the students with rental and utility assistance, fees for college applications, school supplies and food. O.D. Shag Club takes pride in having the opportunity to help with our $1000 donation to this worthy program

Hall of Fame Foundation
“The Tradition of Friends Caring for Friends”

O.D. Shag Club was very honored to present Fat Harold with $1,000 donation to this worthwhile charity. The Hall of Fame Foundation provides financial assistance to people in need and has helped many of our members in the past. They help with medical expenses, wheelchairs, rehabilitation and much more. O.D. Shag Club supports the Hall of Fame Foundation to help “Care for Friends”.

NMB Police Department Shop with a Cop

The entire NMB Police Department participates in putting joy in the lives of children that are under privileged and with special needs. The teachers in North Myrtle Beach submit the names of the children in need. The police will take the children shopping the week before Christmas and also treat them to lunch. We applaud our fine police department for the work they do and proudly presented our $2,000 donation.

Mobile Meals North Strand

The mission of Meals on Wheels is to enhance the quality of life of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals, personal contact and related services . The OD Shag Club is proud to make a $1,000 donation for this worthy cause.

North Myrtle Beach Humane Society

Our club was was proud to present a $500.00 donation to the NMB Humane Society. Their mission is to find loving and permanent homes for abandoned animals. The heart of this organization is their dedication and professionalism.

Helping Hands

Margaret Owens graciously accepted our $1,000 donation. This local organization assist around 5,500 people in need in our community.

The Dewey Kennedy Scholarship

The Dewey Kennedy Mixed Doubles Dance Contest is held on Thanksgiving weekend each year. This will be the 12th year that Ducks has given away a $500 scholarship to a young person and the longest running scholarship in the shag community. O.D. Shag Club takes pride in having the opportunity to help with our $500 donation to this worthy scholarship fund.

Citizens Against Spousal Abuse

Our club was was proud to present a $1,000 donation to CASA. The goal for CASA is to stop the circle of violence by offering help to all members of the family. Their purpose is to provide emergency safe counseling and support for abused women and children.
