The 19th Annual OD Shag Club Charity Golf Tournament was held Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at Cypress Bay Golf Course. Seventy two golfers participated in this year’s tournament. The weather cooperated very nicely providing us with a beautiful, warm and sunny late-summer day.
It took a lot of work by many volunteers for our Tournament to be successful
again this year. Larry Jones and his team did a great job getting the 55 hole
sponsors. Jennifer Sykes and her Raffle Team successfully obtained many raffle
items and sold a large number of raffle tickets. The 32 Golf-Day-Volunteers :
Greeted, Registered, sold Mulligan Packs , Cooked, Fed, and Served beverages to
our golfers. Debbie Schmitt took a souvenir picture of each foursome
(each player received a photo) and OD Shag Club photographer Pat Harris snapped great pictures
throughout the day.
In total, before, during and after the tournament, there were over 60 ODSC
volunteers who contributed to the success of this our biggest fundraiser.
We continue to get complimentary e-mails from participating Golfers such as:
“All of you do a great job and it’s by far the best and most enjoyable
tournament we play all year!” We are already looking at ways to improve next
year’s 20th Golf Tournament. Our selected charities will greatly benefit from the generous contributions of our Golfers, Sponsors, Raffle Donators, and Volunteers. An extended appreciation full of Thanks to each of you!
