Best Golfers in the ACSC!
Several ACSC Shag Clubs participated in our 2016 Annual Charity Golf Tournament going head to head to see which shag club has the best golfers in the ACSC and the winner is…….Richmond Shag Club. The Richmond Shag Club did an outstanding job and can be named the best Golfers in the ACSC.
As to their prize, the ODSC donated $400 dollars to JR SOS in the name of the Richmond Shag Club. Everyone was a winner…..Richmond players had a great time and earned some money to help JR SOS.
The Richmond Shag Club Golf Team members are Kevin Byrnes, Lisa Cox, Lynn Slaughter and Carrol Cox. We were pleased to have them share our day and hope they will defend their title in 2017!

Geoffrey Girling and Ken Meyer led this year’s tournament. Karen and Rich Young were leaders in obtaining hole sponsors and raffle prizes. Many Club members participated in obtaining hole sponsors and raffle prizes as well as volunteering for certain duties on the day of the tournament. Each one helped make this years golf tournament as success. Without their help there
would be no golf tournament. Our Club is fortunate to have each of these caring and participating members.
As always special thanks to each of them for their dedication and participation.
Friend of the OD Shag Club:
The Ocean Drive Shag Club is a non-profit social club with a strong commitment to support our community and its merchants. We do this by organizing an annual SOS/ODSC charity golf tournament that is held every September during SOS Fall Migration. Profits from this tournament are used to help support local and regional charities. The tournament, now in its twenty-fourth year, has raised thousands of dollars for numerous charities. Our 2015 donations totaled over $8700 and benefited eight area charities.
This year’s tournament will be held at the Valley at Eastport Golf Course in Little River on September 17, 2016. The cost is $65 per player and includes, cart, green fees, food and beverages. We are expecting 88 players to participate. The tournament will be advertised in newspaper ads, flyers, radio, SOS Carefree Times, our website and by word of mouth.
Currently, we are seeking Hole Sponsors and/or prize donations to help defray tournament expenses. We would be grateful for your support. Please take a few minutes to review the enclosed agreement and consider becoming a hole sponsor and/or donating a gift for our prize drawings. We thank you for your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
